Google Home speaker won't stay connected to WiFi

I have two Google Home speakers and two Google Home minis connected to a mesh network. One Google Home speaker in particular will not stay connected. It keeps telling me that it cannot find the Wi-Fi connection. I have moved the speaker three times and I can guarantee it's not interference or signal. Unplugging and plugging it back up will reconnect it to Wi-Fi but it will randomly disconnect at some point and never reconnect. I have manually reconnected by resetting it and it still loses connection randomly. I suspect a possible hardware issue but I don't know if I have exhausted all of the software options.

Hi @Remydrh,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Google Home Mini won't stay connected to Wi-Fi. I appreciate all the efforts you've been making to resolve this situation. I'm happy to help!

To better assist you, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • How long did the device work before the connectivity inconvenience started?
  • Did the device give an audible error?
  • What is the firmware version of your Google Home Mini?

In the meantime, let's check the following:

  • Please take a screenshot of the Home app’s Activity > History, to check if there’s a recorded instance where the device unlinked.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

I am having the same issue.  May be related to Internet, Modem, and router upgrade.

No activity recorded in history for disconnect.

Hi @KThib,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest device isn't connected to Wi-Fi. Help's here!

To better understand, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What type of Nest device do you have?
  • When did the behavior start?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Let's check a couple of tips:

  • Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes.
  • Restart your device: Restart your Nest device and your phone or tablet. Refer to this article: Reboot your Nest device.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
