Google Home speakers missing in Family Link devices

Half of our GH speakers are missing under the device tab in Family Link. I tried a power cycle, hard reset and nothing seems to work.

As a result, I cannot pair my son to his Nest Mini in his bedroom and he is using my Spotify account when he plays music. The speakers most relevant to him are not showing up at all in Family Link to use with Voice Match.

I had originally opened this thread a few weeks ago, but had a death in the family and couldn't get back to the thread prior to it being locked.

Devices are on the same WiFi network and it's important to know that these nest mini's were on my child's accounts with voice match. They have just disappeared within Family Link and I can't find a way to restore them. I also want to mention that it's not ALL of our devices, only some. Voice Match is working on some Nest Minis, Nest Hubs and Nest Audios.

Hello jpcams,

Sorry for the late response. I know how it feels when you can't access some of your devices on Family Link. To confirm, do you still see those speakers in the Google Home app? Are you able to cast or play music in an audio group? How far are those devices from the router?

Let's try the steps below:

  1. Move your Google Nest Minis within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Nest Minis and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
  3. Make sure you have the updated Google Home app version.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
