Google Home stopped responding to commands

So we accidentally left our poor speaker outside one night and it rained! It powers up fine and plays directly off our iPhones BUT it no longer responds to any commands. In my attempt to reset the device I cleared it from my profile and now it cannot be found! Help anyone please?!

I’m sorry to hear about what happened to your Google Home speaker. Let’s further look into it. Just to confirm, did you hear Google Assistant confirm the reset followed by a chime when you tried to do the factory reset?

 

Let’s try these steps:

 

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app. 
  • Turn off and on WiFi on your phone.
  • Log in to the Google Home app > Proceed with the setup.
  • If the Google Home app still won’t find your Google Home device, go to your phone’s WiFi settings > Look for an available network with the name GoogleHomeXXXX (where XXXX is a random number) > Connect to it.
  • Go back to the Google Home app and continue the setup.
  • If the issue persists, try to use a different setup device.
