Google Nest Audio popping

I recently “upgraded” from the original Google speaker to the Nest Audio speakers. I played relaxing noise 24/7 until I switched to the Nest Audio speakers. The Nest Audio speakers are constantly playing loud pops. It does this when the speakers are in a group or separated.

I tried buying these a couple of years ago and had the exact same issue with the old ones. How is this problem not fixed?

@jp26jp Sounds frustrating—seems like Google still hasn’t fixed the popping issue on Nest Audio.

Hi there!

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Audio is popping. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • Have you recently updated the software on your Nest Audio, or purchased new Nest Audio speakers?
  • Does the popping occur only with certain types of content, such as relaxing music?
  • Which app are you using to play music?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany

It happens when playing the oscillating fan sound that google provides. It also tends to happen much more often if the speakers are used in stereo vs as individual speakers.

Hi there!

Thanks for the follow-up.

Please try the steps here:

  • Restart your devices: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches. Follow these steps to reboot your Google Nest speakers.
  • Check the power source: Ensure your Nest devices are connected to a reliable power source. You may want to try plugging them into a different outlet.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

@williamnuine your best bet is to return for a refund if you can. The community specialists like @gmelanymelissa only know how to spew the tier one useless playbook and cannot help you. I’ve have a ticket open for three months, Google has shipped me two new pairs and all cause popping. Their support has no intent on trying to troubleshoot because they know the issue has existed for two years and done nothing about it.
