Google Nest Audio stuck at 2 leds starting

Hi,

One of my 4 Nest Audio speakers stopped working this week. It's stuck on the 2 white LEDs. Don't even get the 4 LEDs blinking. Tried everything as described in other posts, like reset on the speaker - doesn't respond to the buttons, 11 times power off and on - no difference, 2 white LEDs, power off 24h - no difference. The other 3 are working fine.

Any suggestions?

Or if not, how to get Google support please? Thanks!

Hi Marco_001,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble with one of your Google Nest Audio that got stuck in 2 white LED lights. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I really appreciate the effort to troubleshoot the situation. I'm here to help.

For further assistance. I just want to make sure you did the factory reset properly on your Nest Audio:

  • On the back of the device, switch the mic off. The LED turns orange, and it says "The mic's off" in the device's set language.
  • Press and hold (long press) the center of the Nest Audio that's near the top. After 5 seconds, the device begins the factory reset process. It says, "You're about to completely reset this device. Release to cancel" in the device's set language.
  • Continue to hold (long press) for about 10 seconds more until the Google Assistant plays a sound to signal the start of the factory reset process. After 5 more seconds, the device reboots and then plays the startup sound.

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron

Thanks, tried all that, it stays on the 2 leds, doesn't respond to the switch or the buttons on top at all.

Thanks @ByronP, how long does it typically take before that dedicated team reaches out? Haven't heard from them yet.

Hi @ByronP

thanks for helping me out. No result, can throw the speaker away.

After several mails back and forth, repeating the same steps that were suggested here, I received this from Google support:

"I appreciate you confirming that you have done these steps. We've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps at this point, and the next step would be to replace your Nest Audio. Checking the warranty information for your device, I can see that it's no longer under warranty anymore. As an alternative, you can purchase a new one."

What a bummer.

So now I have a bricked device. I'm reading that Google offered free replacements to others with only 2 years old out of warranty Nest Audio speakers. My Google support contact doesn't respond to that friendly ask. What to do?

I just came home to this exact situation for google Nest audio that I’ve had maybe 2 years so far in my living room. I bought a google mini earlier this year for my room and after about a month is stopped working and it was like pulling teeth to get Google to replace that. Thinking of switching to Alexa now that all my devices want to start acting up 😒
