Google Nest Audio

Hello! I have the following problem with one of my Nest Audios (I have three Nest Audios): It turns on and off all the time. I can ask it a question, and it starts to answer - then suddenly it becomes completely mute, and it is not possible to make contact with it. After a few minutes, it turns on again (music is heard and the lights blink). This happens several times every day. I have performed a factory reset, but this does not help.
Anyone who can help?

Hi Peik56,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that one of your three Nest Audios is turning on and off all the time. I understand how frustrating it is for you to ask it a question and it doesn’t finish with the task you ask it to perform. Thank you for describing what you’re experiencing with your Nest Audio and letting us know that you already performed a factory reset to your device, but the inconvenience persists. Don’t worry; it is my pleasure to help you resolve this inconvenience.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • What is the distance between your failing Nest Audio and the router?
  • Is your failing Nest Audio currently linked to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?
  • Could you please check if there are wireless interferences like walls and floors, nearby Wi-Fi networks, other electronics, cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, Bluetooth devices, and wireless video equipment?
  • Can you describe the status of the 4 LED lights? Please refer to this article for reference: Google Nest and Google Home device LED lights
  • Did you receive any error messages in the Google Home app after performing the factory reset and trying to set up your failing Nest Audio?
  • Has the device been dropped or knocked over?
  • Have you tried connecting the Nest Audio to a different power source?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your environment, such as a change in Wi-Fi network or recent outages?
  • What is the make and model of the mobile device you're using for setup?
  • Are you watching TV when the device randomly turns on? Was there a Google TV commercial playing at the same time?
  • Did you have a conversation that mentioned Google when randomly the Nest Audio triggers?
  • Where is the device placed? For example: by itself, up against the wall, next to a window, next to a TV or audio speaker.
  • Is there anything covering, touching, or intermittently brushing against the device?

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Virna
