Google Nest Hub Gen 2 will not boot past recovery mode screen

Hello,

Our Nest hub has been working fine since we bought it several months ago. Earlier this week we unplugged it and left it unplugged for a couple of days while we were repainting the house. After I plugged it back in it rebooted and appeared to be running normally. After a few minutes I heard a loud static noise from the speakers, and the screen pixelized and went blank. The device rebooted on its own, and went through the same sequence two or three times. The last time it came up with a screen saying it was in recovery mode and I had to perform a factory reset. I followed the instruction to hold both volume buttons down during the screen countdown, and the device rebooted, but it rebooted back to the recovery screen. I've performed the FDR procedure several times, but the device will not advance past the recovery screen. What do I do?
