Google Nest Hub shows offline devices

RodViper

Hello

I am able to connect my Google Nest hub to a different wi-fi network and the living room display (the hub itself) is working. Spotify music works ok. But all other devices are showing offline.

Have setup Wi-fi once more (forget the old network), rebooted the device few times but to no avail.

(note: have changed ISP with new modem installed. Internet working fine with all others but not the hub's connected devices).

Please help and thanks in advance.

@RodViper

It sounds like you have a new Wi-Fi network and multiple Google Nest devices.

Since Google Nest does not have a way to update Wi-Fi settings on many Google Nest devices, the easiest way is to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old Wi-Fi router/modem.  Then you don't have to update any of your devices.  That's what we did when we got a new router/modem.

If you can't do that, then the general process is to remove your Google Nest devices from the Google Nest app or Google Home app, do a factory reset of each device, update your Wi-Fi network, and reinstall your devices:

hi @MplsCustomer - Yes I did retained the same SSID network name but I still need to go through the setup of Wi-Fi which was odd (as I did this before too and worked). I was hoping not to go with the latter solution provided as its tedious 🙂 but I may need to go through that route.

Hopefully there is another solution if someone else can chime in if they had this issue before.

But thank you for your help and suggestion.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out.

@RodViper, I agree to what @MplsCustomer mentioned. Though the process could be lengthy, it would definitely fix any network issues with your devices. Just make sure that the devices are within a good range from the router preferably within 10-15 feet away from the router. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for helping out, @MplsCustomer

Best,

Princess

@Princesss thanks for chiming in.

Turned out it was a typo on my part on my network name. One of the letter is lower case when it should have been upper case. Once corrected, all devices are back online.

This is the case since I have used the same network name when I changed ISP.

Anyhow all is good now and thank you @MplsCustomer @Princesss for your help
