Google Nest Hub too dim in low light mode

RichF

One reason I bought the hub was to replace my old style clock.  I set up to display the clock and picked a clock face that I like.  The problem is at night the hub goes into low light mode.  The display goes into its default clock display and it goes far too dim to the point we can't see it from across the room.  I've modified display parameters as recommended on other threads and the dimming has improved slightly but still not enough to be useful.  Is there any way this can be fixed?  What I really would like is to disable low light mode,  but there appears no way to do that.

Hey RichF,

Thanks for reaching out and that certainly hasn't been easy for you, let's figure it out.

Ambient EQ adapts the display brightness and color temperature to match the surrounding environment, so that your display resembles a physical photo. If you want, you can adjust the brightness of your Google Nest Hub manually.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the quick settings menu, then tap the Brightness icon.
  2. Swipe the slider left or right to adjust the brightness level.
  3. Tap the Brightness icon again to toggle Ambient EQ on or off.

Best,

Alex

Hi Alex

Thanks for the reply.  This is helpful, but my issue is with Low-Light mode more than Ambient EQ.  I found the following on one of the help pages:

"Whenever the room is dark, Low-light mode will be enabled. It will be enabled regardless if Ambient EQ is on or off. "

According to this, there is no setting that I can use to disable low-light mode, which is what I really am looking for.

Thanks

Rich

I also suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps on this link.
