The last 3 weeks my Nest Mini 2 have lost WiFi connection once a week, I need to reset to factory settings, remove it from my Google Home, and connect it again. then it works a week again. I have 2 more nest mini 2, in my house the are working without problems. I am also using Google WiFi, so there is perfect WiFi in the house. The only thing is one of the nest minis, it have been working for a long time, without any problems, this issue started 3 weeks ago.

Hey Saberas,
Sorry to hear that. To confirm, have you tried setting up one of your devices on a mobile hotspot to check if they have the same behavior? Also, what is the current firmware version of your devices?
Cheers,
Muddi

I tried hotspot connection and it worked. But I cannot use a hotspot on my phone permanently to be able to use the Google Nest minis
Firmware of 2 of my 3:
309385
Cast fw: 1.56.309385
When I try to get into settings of the 3rd one inside home app, the home app crashes

Hey Saberas,
Since your device is connecting to hotspot, that means that your speakers are working. Have you changed any settings on your router lately? What is the make and model of your phone where the Google Home app is installed? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet to access device settings?
Cheers,
Muddi

I did not change any setting in my LAN/WiFi. The crash happens also kinda randomly. sometimes the devices are available, sometimes they crashed.
Phone: Google Pixel 5, Android 13
Access to settings works again. But sometimes, when the devices work, I got said "Log in via Home App". What I am, all the time.

Hi Saberas,
Could you tell us when and where did you purchase your device?
Cheers,
Muddi

Do what we I did. Return the defective one. Nothing else works.

I should have done that three years ago. I don't have such an option on the google store. Probably too late now 😞

Muddi might help you in that regard.

I have 2 home mini connected to the same wifi. Since years, one of them always disconnect from the wifi after a few hours. I switched their place in the house. It's always the same that disconnects.
I tried with different wifi setup 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, dedicating an AP... Always the same issue.
What can I do ?

I'm also having the same issues. It started a few weeks ago. Maybe the firmware is the problem with me. It has 313652. That has been rolled out since the beginning of the month, almost the same time as the problem started here.

I have this problem now. I have 3 Nest Mini's. One is the older version with a DC power supply. Works fine. Two are the newer version with the mini usb power supply. The two newer ones disconnect from the wifi ALL THE TIME! I have to power cycle them, they reconnect and then drop the connection. I've tried every single thing I can find online but they will not stay connected. So infuriating!

I recently updated my router. The old one had separate SSIDs for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks and the new one has a single SSID for both. (Presumably devices negotiate with the router and end up connecting to the stronger signal, 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz.) My two Google Home Minis (bought Xmas 17 and Xmas 18) reliably stayed on the WiFi network with the old router. With the new one, they fell off daily and I reset them by "forgetting" the current network an doing a setup with the Google Home App. I made two changes which fixed the problem. The first is I configured my router so that the two Minis have a static IP. Each time they do a DHCP to get an IP address, the router always assigns the same ones. And the second is I requested my ISP to create another SSID which serves the 2.4Ghz network only. My Minis connect to this SSID and all other devices to the original "blended" SSID. I've had no network dropoffs now for a week or so. I strongly suspect that the new, separate, Mini-only 2.4 Ghz SSID fixed the problem rather than the static IPs.

My problem has been solved several weeks now. My FritzBox was the issue. They helped me installing an update and since then not a single lost connection

I have a Fritzbox 7530 but it says the firmware is up to date. Could you give more details?

Thanks, Floris. I have a 7530 AX too, and I tried the beta firmware but I still get the constant lost of connection in my 2 Nest devices. I'm going back to the official release.

My two are still not working. My third one which is an earlier model ( has mini usb port for power ) works perfectly as do my two Nest Displays.
I can't get a simple solution either.
Router is TP-Link Deco W7200. I've tried different setting in that too. Nothing works.
Does not make me want to buy two more to replace the two that are not working!

I have a Google home mini (works fine) and a Google nest mini (keeps disconnecting randomly at 3-4am since the day I bought it in 2019). The most it's been without disconnecting was a couple of months. Since then I moved 4 times and I had this issue with every time. No matter what router I used, how far it was connected, what type of security was used with the wifi network, whether it was 2.4 or 5 GHz. The problem IS the device.
I bought it when I lived in the US. Now that I live in Argentina the problem is exactly the same. But I can't return the device from here 😭.

Asking for support here was a very bad experience, and I'll tell you why.. No solution here solved the issue and the problem kept returning.
The ONLY solution here, is to buy yourself a new device, after ±12 months I was sick of the issue and Google did not respond to my replacement request (I requested this a while ago on this topic). Google support on this is VERY bad and I doubt I'll ever get refunded for the buggy device.
And you know what is funny? The issue never occurred on my new device! And I NEVER reset my router, not reset WiFi settings, or any of the other useless troubleshooting advice that is done by mods on this topic. Yet they keep telling us to keep troubleshooting.. forever.
I set it up exactly the same way I did literally over a 100 times with the broken device, and haven't had a problem on the new device ever since. Google, you **bleep**ed up somewhere and your customer is the victim here.
Your internet is OK! Replace your device - or try to get Google to replace it (good luck tho).

I have exactly the same problem as everybody else here. My nest minis are loosing the wifi connection after a few days and only a complete reset helps to get them working again. Is there still no problem solving?
06-14-2023 12:30 PM
No. I have still one that is loosing its wifi every day. Other 3 I have are fine.
I have stopt auto. updates on those 3. I have the feeling that it is a software issue.
06-15-2023 04:43 AM
I also have this problem and find that just pulling out the power cord for two seconds reboots the unit and it regains the wifi for a few days. I have had three units in this location and after a while all three started random wifi loss. My other four units in different locations never had this problem.
06-15-2023 10:19 PM
Same. I have 4 Google Nest mini and 2 of them are loosing wifi connection after a while. Stating "I can't connect to your WiFi" when trying to trigger them with voice.
I also tried to resetting them, the error persists.
So many problems with these devices, seems Google is killing voice assistant anyway and you have to buy that new tablet.
