Google Nest Mini (2nd Gen) - Please login through the Google Home app

Since few months ago my Google Nest Mini (2nd Gen) has been logging itself off from Google Home every few hours and replies "Please login through the Google Home app" whenever giving it command. I had to reconnect the device manually in Google Home every time it happens. I saw other people had the same issue in the other thread on this community forum and they have been told to reset the device, I have reset it several times but no luck.

You're luck you got it working at all: mine has never connected to the phone with the Home app, and it looks as if it never will. Yes, they are on the same wifi network (although that shouldn't actually be necessary - although while we're on the matter of unnecessary data, insisting on using location, apart from being impractical in older, stone-walled houses, is a creepy way to harvest data).

Hi hamkok,

Thank you so much for sharing your concerns with me. I’m sorry to know your Google Nest Mini 2 Gen is constantly disconnecting from your Google Home. So don’t worry; I’m glad to assist you.

It's good to know you've already tried a previous troubleshooting step. At this time, I need to isolate the situation and gather more information about this case, so help me out with these questions.

  • How far is your router from your Google Nest Mini?
  • Did you make some changes recently regarding your wifi network or move your device?
  • Did you have a power outage recently?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken before?
  • When you request a command on your device, does it work correctly?

Additional information please double check that you have performed effectively the reboot, checking out this article: Reboot Google Nest or Home speaker or display.

Keep me in the loop, and I can provide you with further information.

Best regards

Daniel
