I have 2 wireless doorbells in the same home connected to 2 Nest Mini 2nd Gen devices. I do only use them as "digital bells" for the doorbells. Initially it worked perfectly once one of the doorbells got active the speakers were announcing a person ringing the bell.
However since quite a while both speakers are set to 0% (muted) in the iOS Google Home App. I did not initiate that change but whenever I try to increase the volume on both speakers it lasts a few seconds and the devices fall back to 0%. Since then the doorbells no longer announce the visitors and I only get push notifications on the app.
The hardware buttons do work but the change is not reflected in the app. I also do not see any logical connection in the app to link the doorbells to the mini speakers.
Would be lovely to get your help!

Having your speakers revert to 0% volume (muted) on their own seems quite odd.
Have you tried rebooting your speakers, either by unplugging them for a minute or by using the reboot option in the Google Home app (Setting | More [3 dots icon] | Reboot)?

Yes. It is also weird as the same happens to BOTH nests…thanks for your help!
