Google Nest Mini 2nd gen will not RESET

Get the orange lights, nothing happens

Tried the troubleshooting root of power off, let it connect 10 times, power off etc repeat, makes no difference

Any other ideas

Hi @qwakuk 

You have done what I would have suggested : Issues when you reset your Google speaker - Google Nest Help just in case. Reboot your network and try a different outlet closer to your router too.

The orange LEDs indicate something may be something wrong with your hardware and if it is under warranty you may want to exchange it.

Network is fine as I have a Unifi UAP mesh setup, uap is less than 10 feet from me.

The mini still works and auto connects to the network, just talks randomly so wanted to try and reset it.

The google nest (original model) reset ok following the button press on the back.

Also have a google nest hub and apart from the screen being bright white sometimes during the night it works ok.

Unplug the power cord from your speaker. Wait for 10 seconds. Plug it back in, and wait until all 4 lights on top illuminate.

Does this mean as soon as the 4 lights come on or wait till it has finished botting up and then pull the power ?

Hello qwakuk,

As soon as the four lights show up, you can go ahead and unplug the power cord, then wait for 10 seconds before you can plug it back in. Let me know if you're still having issues with your Google Nest Mini.

Tried that and it still will not reset

I am in my bedroom , no one else in the house and I just heard it speaking in another room

One of the reasons why I want to reset it as it has done it in the middle of the night before

I do not remember, but 3 or 4 years ago probably so out of warranty I would have thought
