Hello. Within maybe the last 2 weeks my Nest Mini has been doing a "voice broadcast to audio". About 95% of all broadcasts sent from our two Home Minis coming to the Nest Mini are being read to my in the standard google voice. And apparently it misunderstands what was said on the broadcasting end of things. This makes every message completely garbled and mixed up bunch of words. If I am near the two Home Minis, I can hear the proper Broadcast in the persons own voice. Apparently it is just a problem with my Nest Mini on the receiving end of a Broadcast.
I have tried unplugging it and rebooting it. I also tried unsubscribing to the Beta program. None of this has fixed the issue. I suppose I could completely reset the device, but I would prefer not to have to redo all the settings. Anyone have a solution for this?

Hi JasoKo,
Chiming in — how far is the Google Nest Mini from the router? Who is your internet provider? Also, can you check the cast firmware version? Here's how to check: https://bit.ly/38BzM4q
Keep me posted.
Best,
Nikki

My provider is Telekom and its right next to the router. The system firmware is 299498 and cast firmware is 1.56.299498

Hey JaspKo,
Apologize for the delays. Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To confirm, does it happen to all your broadcast message?
Cheers,

My outgoing broadcasts are always fine. Incoming to the Google Nest Mini are garbled about 50% of the time. This is any time the senders own voice isn't used and Google reads them out "herself". No idea why it does that. At that point it is like the words are misunderstood and similar words get used. As an example I could get "Go pail is where dad was sit." instead of "the Mail is there, dad has it".

Hey JaspKo,
It is normal that the Google Assistant will not send the sender's voice and use its own voice to broadcast. However, since you mentioned that it's not broadcasting the right words - then we have to check the main reason why it's happening. Could you check "My Activity" on the Google Home app, and see if the Nest Mini was able to get the command correctly. Also, does it happen when you broadcast from phone to speakers or vice versa?
Follow these steps below to check "My Activity":
Let me know how it goes.

Muddi

I just wanted to follow up on this. Are you able to check "My Activity"?

Seems simple enough. But there is a whole lot of information. We are 3 people who use a total of 3 google home minis and one nest. Most seem to be the Assistant writing " Said Broadcast" followed by "you asked the assistant to broadcast a message". Seems correct. And as I said, the other minis seem to say the message in the users voice, but the Nest reads the message to me in its own voice. All are on the same network.

Hey JaspKo,
To confirm, when you try to broadcast the same messages on your Google Home and Nest Minis, do they broadcast with different voices? Could you share a video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device.
Cheers,
Muddi
