Evening community 😁
I have 3 nest mini speakers in different rooms in the house - Kitchen, Office and Living Room. Each are part of the same household and have rooms assigned on the Google Home app.
Until about a few weeks ago, I used to be able to use a voice command "Play music on the [Room] speaker", and music would play on that speaker, regardless of where I am in the house. Now, that voice command does not work ("Sorry, I don't understand") and I have to either be in the same room as the speaker or use my phone to manually cast audio.
Has anybody else experienced a similar issue and able to offer any help with this? I've tried resetting all devices and reconnecting to WiFi, to no avail. I'm sick to the back teeth of accidentally playing the theme from "The Office". 🤣
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. A fix was recently rolled out, and this should take care of the speaker group issue. If you need further help, let us know by updating this thread, and we're glad to assist you further.
Thanks,
Juni

It seems to keep changing everyday now
Now if type "play YouTube music on the bedroom display" (nest hub)
It responds with
"Sorry I don't where to play the video. Please tell me the exact name of the screen."
Nest hub labeled in home app: bedroom display
The only music service that I am connected too: YouTube music
So then I tried tell it to play on my living room speaker (Lenovo clock essential)
Assistant tells me it will play it
Clock doesn't acknowledge the command, open home app with "an error occured"
Can we please have the toggle back in the home app to play music (running the preview), relying on a routine or hoping the assistant can do its job for longer than a week is getting incredibly more annoying. I have requested this feature back in the feedback section of the home app.

Liar. The very latest Google Home app updates have not fixed the problem. It is March 21 and music still does not play on my devices. This is a widespread problem.

Hello everyone,
Checking back to see if all issues are resolved on your end. Could you confirm if you're now able to play music on your Nest devices?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Dan

Still having issues, this is all typing on my phone into Google assistant as I do not use voice commands
Living room speaker is a Lenovo essential
"Hey Google play music on living room speaker"
"Ok playing music"
*Nothing happens
Have to tell my nest hub to play music, wait for the Google home app to show the popup for music (this is a terrible design choice) then change the cast to living room speaker and turn off the nest hub cast
Can we just have the option to play music in the Google home app like we did before the redesign

I'm still having issues and it appears others are too. Your fixes don't work. Lastest update messed things up

Going absolutely crazy for weeks now. My Sonos speaker played my Playlists ls from YouTube Music just fine for the last 3 yrs, now.. Nothing. (YTM is owned by Google for anyone else out there). Now nothing. This thread is the closest to an answer I can find. Truly.. Is this the best way to help customers?

Has anybody solved this?? I bought 5 Google Nest speakers for my clinic and none of them respond to me with anything other than “Sorry I don’t understand.” I have Google for everything else in my business so I wanted this to work but honestly I am on the verge of returning them all
