Google Nest broadcast no longer uses my voice

bwat1009

I have 3 Google Home speakers (1 OG Model and two second gen minis) as well as one smart display. I have used the broadcast feature daily for as long as it has existed. I routinely broadcast from my phone and it has always behaved the same as broadcasting from another G Home device and played a recording of me speaking my message. I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy S20 to a Pixel 7 Pro and for some reason broadcasts from my phone now use Google Assistant reading a transcript of my message (often poorly transcribed). If I initiate the broadcast from a GHome device, it still uses the recording of me speaking my message (like I want). I feel like I am overlooking a setting on the phone somewhere but have been through everything I can find with no solution. It is driving me crazy.

Hi bwat1009,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

With regards to your question about broadcast, let's make sure that we have completed all these requirements:

If the message is started on a speaker or display, it plays on all speakers or displays that:

If the message is started on a phone, it plays on all speakers or displays that are signed in to the same Google Account.

Your phone doesn't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as your speakers or displays.

Hope this helps.
