Google Nest hub and google home setup issue with Tv

Not applicable

Hi. I have setup google assistant on my HiSense U7G 75 inch tv. The voice assistant works when I press the button on the remote but when I try use my google nest hub to control the Tv it say it’s unavailable and to try setting it up again. When I click on my devices in the Google Nest hub and on my iphone in the Google Home App and click on the tv it’s says it’s not responding / offline. Have I setup something incorrectly? Would love to be able to mute my tv or turn it on and off without the remote. Appreciate the help.

Hey Angelo-85,

Thanks for posting, and apologize for the late response. I know how it feels when you can't control your TV via voice command on your Google Nest Hub -- we're happy to help. A few questions - is it a Cast-enabled TV, or there's a Chromecast device connected?

Please note that Google Home/Nest speakers and displays can only turn on/off TVs connected to external Chromecast or build-in Chromecast devices. Here's a link that might be helpful to you: Turn your TV on and off using speakers or displays

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey Angelo-85,

I just wanted to follow up on my last post. Are you able to check if your device is cast-enabled TV?

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,
