Google home max

Google home max speaker has recently started telling me that it can’t control the volume when asked to do so with voice command. I have been asking it to change the volume by voice command for 2 years with no issues

It's possible that it's a cloud hiccup and that's all it takes for things to catch up and work again. Sometimes the solution is patience as evidenced by yours stopping one day and then working a few days later.

For now the setup I have is working fine, knock wood...I'll probably wake up tomorrow with the same problem! Sometimes this happens, just like the power goes out or cable TV or streaming services go down. I agree, it stinks when it doesn't work, but then I say it's not life-threatening or the end of the world, so it's all good. 😂

Hey @Cwhiteside does the Home Max show up in your Home app and assigned to its appointed room?

Try rebooting the device and also rebooting your modem and router. I've had that function fizzle a few times and it always seems to be connection loss even though its shows.

I am having the same problem with mine, that I have paired. The problem started this morning.  Following your advice, I did verify that they show up in the assigned room in Google home. I have rebooted both the speakers separately by unplugging them for 3 minutes as well as through the Google home app. I also rebooted my Google mesh network. Those actions still didn't fix the problem. I can adjust the volume via the app and manually. I had the same problem with my Google home speaker a couple of days ago, but it started working this morning with out any interventions.

RIGHT? It's not the end of the world, just a little irritating, when one can't fix a "first world problem." We just happened to have someone over who had not experienced the power of the speakers, so it was a little embarrassing when we were trying to show off It's features.  Our guest was not impressed. 🤗 I'll just wait it out.
