Google home mini 1st gen not connecting to wifi

Hello!  I moved provinces (Ontario to BC) last year and tried reconnecting my Google home mini 1st generation, for the 1st time in 2+ years.   Google home app set up on iPhone (most recent IOS) ok.  Last step fails stating unable to connect Google home mini to wifi.  We have rebooted/powered down and done factory reset on the Google home mini multiple times.  Is the Google home mini 1st generation still working?  Please help.

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're not able to connect your Nest Mini (1st gen) during the setup process.

To better understand why this is happening, please provide the following information:

  • What LED color does the device give?
  • Is the speaker within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device?
  • Did you create a new home in the Google Home app after moving? 

A tip I can give you is to visit the article "Fix issues with a Nest speaker or display not connecting to Wi-Fi".
