The real issue isn't with any hardware, "Hey Google" seems to have lost it's ability to actually execute on commands effectively like it doesn't understand me or just makes stuff up. It's infuriating because it used to work so well. While I know Google intends to introduce Gemini to Google Home devices, the reality is that those of who have committed to this infrastructure are left with a dying service that impacts us multiple times a day. Google's understanding has degraded so badly I often just go to the app to execute a command because I don't want to be frustrated with repeating myself or worse having it doing something I didn't want it to do - like play a song when I never said the word play.
Come on Google - you're better than dropping the ball like this. I know this began as an issue in 2023 - so two years now - I appreciate how great you were and what you did, but now the service is sucky and Amazon is practically giving their devices away, I could probably replace google for about $200 for an assistant that actually works.
Thanks for the vent! This issue is so aggravating.
