I copied this post from 3 years ago. I am having the exact same thing happening to my Google max speaker and nest hub
Issues started today. Every time I day "hey Google, play xxxx" it will day OK and then attempt to play from YouTube music but I then get "Sorry something went wrong".
All other voice commands are fine and can play from phone to device.
Powered off 60secs and back on, bit no change.
Internet is working fine.
Real pain.
Cheers

Same problem here. Last week or so can't play music from YT Music on Nest devices. Oddly enough, I can play podcasts from YT Music. Tried everything.

I got it to work yesterday by casting audio first and then I stopped casting and used my voice and it worked but today just tried to use my voice nope back to same again. Are these products on some kind of time scale? After a few years they just kinda stop working. I don't know it's weird for it to suddenly stop

Hi everyone,
Thank you for posting in the community! I understand how inconvenient and frustrating the situation with the voice commands of your Google Home Max speaker and Nest Hub can be.
I appreciate the time to troubleshoot and to share the steps tried and for the clarifications about the audio sources that you're able to listen to. It seems that the common factor in this situation seems to be the error message.
To fix this situation, I initially suggest checking that your operating system and the app versions are up to date, then please try the tips provided in the help article "Troubleshoot Assistant not connecting."
I hope this helps. Feel free to post the results.
Regards,
Humberto

Having the same issue and can't seem to find any solution online. I have 3 speakers (1 nest and 2 xiaomi) at home and all of them stopped playing music on voice command but they all work if I open the music app on my phone and then cast it.
Has anyone find a solution?

I might of found a solution for my hub. In my home app I saw that my hub and TV were together. I just unchecked TV and it worked. Not sure why it was checked in the first place. But that seemed to do the trick.

Hi Jeff38,
It's great to hear back from you. Thank you for your proactive troubleshooting and for sharing the solution you found regarding music playback with voice commands on your Nest Hub. For any additional assistance, make sure to count on me.
@JulioC2428, I'll be happy to investigate the issue you're reporting. To begin, could you please specify the type of Nest speaker you are using and whether the speakers are configured as a group?
If you've already tried troubleshooting steps without success, please let me know so I can review those efforts and investigate further. I look forward to your post!
Regards,
Humberto
