Last week my daughters Google Next Mini was overheating. Super hot to the touch. She said before she touched it all the lights were lit on it and it wasn't responding. She touched it so it could respond and it super hot. She unplugged it right away. That evening she plugged it in and it said, connect to Google home app to set up.
So I reset her device and it started overheating again. So not sure what to do now. We have had this one since March 2020.

Hello! Not sure what help can be given. I have multiple googles in our home this one became so hot, you couldn't touch it. It has only done this 2 other times. She does occasionally put it on her floor near her bed. The times it overheated and self-reset, it was located on her dresser.
Next time I/her notice it heats up I can take a surface temperature of it.
I guess I'm looking for guidance on if this is normal or not normal.

Hey Devilsknights,
Thanks for coming back to us. Please note that Google Nest Mini are built to operate between certain temperature thresholds. The temperature range can sometimes cause the device to become warm to the touch, based on how the device is used and how it operates. The recommended operating ambient temperature range for the speakers, along with the bundled power adapter, is between 0°C (32°F) and 35°C (95°F).
If the device temperature is higher than normal, please unplug your speaker from the power outlet and move it to a cooler (or warmer) location and wait a few minutes before you try to use it again. Rest assured that the device has been tested under high performance conditions and that device temperatures are well within the safety limits provided by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), in order to pass regulatory requirements.
Keep us posted.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hey Devilsknights,
How's your device? Are you able to check if the temperature is higher than the normal temperature?
Looking forward to your response.

So interesting enough, my son's did the over heating. I have image proof that the device heated to over 170° F. I'm not sure why this happens but it's very frustrating since it sits near my son's bed.
