Google nest mini music alarm

I'm trying to set a music alarm on a nest mini using a playlist in youtube music premium but it doesn't work. Can music alarms only be set using single songs?

Hi Kw,

 

Thanks for reaching out. I understand the importance of having a great alarm! I would be more than happy to help answer your question.

  • To set a media alarm, you can select a song, artist, genre or playlist from your default music service in the Google Home app. If you have a premium account with your default music service, you can also use the premium options the service offers.
  • To have a different song, I would try to use a genre or playlist that is set on shuffle, as that may allow the alarm to use a different song.

Thanks for your response. I do have Youtube MUsic premium. I can ask it to play my playlist and that works fine. But when I set a music alarm and tell it to use the same playlist, it doesn't... it just selects a seemingly random playlist that isn't mine.  It will let me choose a specific song for an alarm, but not a playlist. I've tried different playlists... none work. Any idea why?

Thank you for your patience! I have some more quick questions.

  • Which specific commands are you using when you set an alarm?
  • When you set an alarm, are you always getting the same incorrect playlist? Or does the playlist change every time as well?
