Google photos Screensaver out of order

There appears to be an issue with Google photos cloud service because the Screensaver stopped showing my photos simultaneously on both nest hub and Google TV. 

Anyone else experience this today?

I seem to have a similar issue. Started yesterday, my Nest "Photo frame" mode shows Curated Art all the time.

Manually set it back to my Google Photos, and after showing 1 picture its back to curated art.

I've tried everything but I think it's a software issue on Googles side that is affecting Google Photos access.

Likely the new Gemini update no-one asked for...

Thanks for info. 

I've been in contact with Google Support today and after all their efforts was exhausted the issue was escalated to senior/engineer level.

However, I tried again many times since then, testing stuff, and found out some interested things. 

I have another Nest Hub (gen1) in my kitchen and noticed it was showing my photos. Which convinced that it could work.

I started experimenting on my Google TV, that also are able to show Google Photo albums. I found out that an album I have with pictures of my car was working. It is only 30 photos. 

I tried other albums too. I was also able to add an album with 2000+ photos (all my own photographs) but as soon as I add any album containing my AI images it fails. 

I have seen many of my photos since I started testing but not a single AI image. That's very curious. 

And still, even the real photo albums aren't working every time. Suddenly it jumps back to the random photo art collections (curated art) 

There's something fishy going on or there's a big ugly and strange bug in the system

Hi, I don't know if you saw my update. 

Can I ask you if you happen to have AI generated images in your album that won't show on your "photo frame"?

Update on this issue 

I have been testing now and I'm certain that somethings going on with my AI images.

If I combine an album with real photos and AI images it will only show the real photos. 

If there are more AI images then real photos the album won't be shown at all. 

It looks like Google is scanning our photos and censor AI images. It's really shocking! 

I don't know why and I have no clue for a reason they are doing this.

Please reply if you have a similar experience

EDIT:

Here's some interesting info I can add to the issue - I got an album with only modified AI images. And because the images are modified with photo editing tools the algorithm is not able to detect they are AI generated. The album is shown without any issues. 

I suspect Google by mistake have implemented SynthID technology and activated an algorithm that filter AI generated images and therefore won't be shown. It's only a theory but it's a possible conclusion.

I’ve seen a few posts on this issue but have yet to find an answer that works. I am trying to display photos from my Google Photo albums on my Nest Hub. I select the album I want but nothing changes on the display. I am only seeing the default pics. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

If you look in this thread you can see my "story" with a similar issue. 

In my case it appears to be related to AI generated images not able to be shown. 

I'm currently in contact with Google Senior Technical Support, they need more time to investigate.

While waiting, maybe you can inform me if there happen to be AI generated images in albums you try to display on your photo frame?

also problem with a few photo's.

i used 2 hub's. one is showing family pics and the other one screenshots from games i play.
The one with screenshots does not work and the one with family photo's are working.
Also i see no preview pictures with the screenshot in google foto.

I have also experienced some game screenshot albums not working but mainly problems with AI generated images. 

I got this from the Google Senior Technical Support Team today:

"Our engineering team is actively investigating the issue, as we have received similar reports. We will provide you with an update within 48 hours. We do apologize about this inconvenience*

I hope it means there's a resolution soon to come

I actually just got the update but they don't say 48 hours anymore. All we can do is wait until they figure it out. The Senior Engineer team is waiting for answers too 😕

Our engineering team is still investigating the issue. We will update you as soon as possible if we receive an update from them

Here's a great update! 

I suddenly got my albums running on both Nest Hub and Google TV. It appears they have solved the issue. 

When that's being said, I need to mention that I haven't had an update from the Google engineers yet. If all goes well I'll have that soon and we can use our Google Photos across devices again, as intended 😊
