Google speaker keeps playing music after I tell it to stop

I have a new Google Nest and a Google Mini and for some reason after I ask it to turn off the music, it does for a bit but then randomly starts playing it again and I can’t figure out why? It does it 95% of the time.
the streaming service is Apple Music.
move also found in terms of getting it to play music it’s been awful. You basically have to have a playlist for every individual song or it doesn’t recognize it or plays the wrong version. It’s been such a crummy experience.
can someone offer some help/advice?

Hi jderry, and welcome to the community.

I say, "Hey Google!  Stop."  That stops whatever Google is playing or streaming, or doing.

You might go into your Home app (Assistant app?) and tap your account avatar in the top right corner.  Look down the menu for "My Activity."  Here, you see what it thought you said and what it did in response.  I wonder if it's picking up some random conversation and interpreting that you said something to it?  If so, it will be recorded here.

It’s so frustrating! I’ve found the Apple Music/Google Home experiencing very poor. When I used Spotify it was much better.

I'm sorry, I haven't followed the thread, but I haven't really experienced the issue as described, happening 95% of the time.  I HAVE asked Google the temperature, as in, "Hey Google, temperature."  "In (my city) it's 65 degrees," is the typical reply.  But sometimes I will ask and it says, "All right, playing (whatever) on Spotify," which plays so low compared to the speaker's voice at 17% volume that it could go unnoticed.  I typically run around 40% volume to hear the music.

Nowadays, I will use the speaker as a Bluetooth device and play Spotify or Tune-In Premium from my phone.  This solves two problems:  Spotify from a web browser has no track-to-track volume leveling as it has in the app, and Tune-In Premium is not available from the speaker with "Hey Google," that I know of.

Thank you, Jake, for trying to raise an answer from the OP.  I don't expect my late response to be any more effective in that regard.
