Help to stop annoying speech responses?

Hey I could really do with some help with something I find so annoying.

I have a harmon kardon citation 1 smart speaker. It is connected to a few smart plugs. Whenever I ask the assistant to turn off or on one of the plugs it will give an audio response such as "sure turning off lamp".

It's not life changing, but is very annoying when I'm trying to turn the lamp off at 2am and trying not to wake anyone. Can anyone help with this?

I have been to assistant voice and speech output on Google home clicked on my phone and clicked hands free but there's no option to select my speaker and turn off those voice responses for basic commands.

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks everyone!

There is no way to turn this off.

You can mitigate the response by putting the assistant device and plug (lamp) in the same "room" in the home app. If the assistant device is in the same room as the device being controlled then the assistant device will give a short chime rather than the se verbose response.

You could also set Do Not Disturb settings that mute certain devices between certain hours, that way when the device does speak, you can't hear it.

Other than these workarounds, there is no way (to my knowledge) to disable the verbose response entirely.
