I have the Kasa power strip with my mattress heater connected to it. I also have the Philip Hue Bluetooth light bulb. Both devices work perfectly on my phone through their own apps. I can set them up in Google Home and they will work. For some reason after some random time (could be a few hours, could be a few weeks), Google Home will no longer be able to control these devices. If I unpaid and try to repair them Google Home will either not connect again or will connect but not control. The only way to fix has been to restart the Home itself by unplugging and leaving for a minute then plugging ins and leaving for 10 minutes. This is annoying as some routines or alarms will not work because it "lost" connection. Google Home is up to date. The smart accessories are up to date. My best hub in my other home does not have issues, but the difference with that set up is my Hue is controlled by a bridge instead of Bluetooth (which I've been told just works better).
Does anyone else have this issue and/or does anyone know how to do a better fix than my bandaid method?

Bluetooth is not reliable for home automation, and I would not count on it. Tp-Link to Google link seems to be flaky as well, when you look through these threads. Phillips does make an outlet that connects through their bridge, probably as reliable as you'll see without going to some othe home control system that uses Google as a voice trigger only.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. The Kasa power strip used to be used at the same home with my Nest Hub and never had connection issues. I also have a Tappo (still TP-Link) plug, but I have yet to see that one drop out...Would you still suggest that the issue is with TP-Link or would you suggest that there is something wrong with my Nest Mini since my Nest Hub works fine at my other home.
I have also seen that wifi might have something to do with it, but my wifi connection in both homes is strong (not fast sadly but strong), so I don't think it would be that.

Hi folks,
@kiltguy2112, thanks for the help.
@kirby1fan, we understand what you're going through and It'll be a pleasure helping you out. We know that you've done the reboot already however, these devices rely heavily on Wi-Fi due to its link with each other. It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot by unplugging the power cord for your router/modem followed by your Nest Mini and all your other smart devices. Restarting your phone might also help. After 2-3 minutes, starting with your router, re-plug the power cord.
Keep us posted.
Best,
Dan

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I have an Asus ax3000 router at my apartment that works pretty well. The lights and smart power strip work on the phone still, it is just the connection with the Nest Mini. The Nest Mini will still set alarms and see my calendar and still play music. I will still try your advice and let you know how that goes.
