How do I get the name of a song by humming or whistling it?

I was told to just say "Hey Google, what’s this song?" then whistle or hum.  But that doesn't work, because that command is to tell me what Spotify is currently playing.  And it obviously isn't playing right now because I want to hum or whistle something!  Is there another command?  "I tried "Hey Google, what song am I whistling?" but I got the usual "I'm sorry I don't understand" which plagues this device.

P.S. could somebody fix this forum?  My google home is not ios, android, or web browser, yet I'm forced to pick one for this post!

Hi SunnyRio,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry about the confusion but humming or whistling to your Google Nest speaker to ask the song is not available. Though we understand that this would be helpful for music lovers who uses Nest speakers, we’d like to encourage you to send a feedback regarding this and for any features that you’re looking forward to using with our Google Nest devices.

Best,

Princess
