Hi Lucy Hitchcock,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand the importance of having your Google Home device work, I would be more than happy to help.

  • Unfortunately, if your WiFi consists of a two step process, Google Nest/Home devices will be unable to connect to the WiFi.
  • It is not possible to accept/browse the first step of the WiFi login on the device. As a result, the Google Home App may may be displaying an error message.
  • My solution for you would be using a hotspot via your mobile device. If it is a speaker, you could connect to it via Bluetooth.

Sorry for the bad news. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, thanks.
