I have a Nest Audio plus a pair of Nest Mini (2nd gen) and would like to connect them to a Chromecast w/Google TV 4k. Basically I am trying to setup the Nest Audio in the centre with the TV and the Nest Minis on each side of my sofa.
Is this setup possible? I cannot seem to figure out how 😔
Thanks
Chris

OMG - I've been trying for a while now to get my nest products (Nest Hubs, Nest Speaker Minis, Nest Wifi w/ speaker, and Chromecast w/Google TVs) to do this. All I'm trying for is to have the audio from whatever I'm watching on my GoogleTV also come through whatever speaker devices are in the same room/group. Unfortunately, I have concluded that it is not possible, or if it is it's certainly not worth the work invloved to figure this out. It certainly won't work via the GoogleHome app after setting up the devices and grouping them. I've dug through the various menu/setting options with no success. The support materials and configuration documentation seem non-existent, or otherwise extermemly hard to locate. It's not worth the bother I think. I think the limit of usefulness of this prodct array end with the Chromecast w/Google TV. For audio, go with independant amp/speaker combos, bluetooth speakers like UE Boom that can be configured in an array and paired with Chromecast, or other sound bar device. Definitely interested if anyone has other solutions, but I'm giving up on trying any further to integrate home theatre/audio over these devices. The other ways are equivalent price points and waste far less of my time. Good luck friend 🙂

This is dumb. You would expect that having all these Google devices, Nest WiFi, Next Audio, Nest Mini, Chromecast/Google TV, you can make them work together ... after all it is one of the reasons I stuck to Google devices and not go for other speakers 😣

I agree these product lines weren't very well thought out. The marketing is also quite misleading: "group it with other speakers and fill your home with sound." At best, it's half-truth and missing some obvious caveats about the kind of sounds that it won't fill your home with. At worst, it's plain false.
I was aware that some of the integrated features had been caught up and turned off as a result of the patent-trolling litigation Sonos initiated against Google. With last month's judgement against Sonos and Google's subsequent over-the-air updates restoring those features, I'd let myself beleive this stuff would now all work as one would naturally think it should. Sigh: I was wrong 😞
I'm sitting on the fence with what to do with these devices. I have no doubt the Google store will happily accept them back for refund. And without them working together with my Chromecast/GoogleTV they are quite useless for me. But I am certainly not investing in more of this stuff for home theatre/audio. That "dumb" old home theatre amplifier and those wired speakers I've had for 20+ years still work every time, flawlessly, losslessly, and with absolutely no network latency. Maybe I'm the real dummy here - trying to fix something that was never broken with stuff that's never really been proven outside the ad spots. Kodos on Simpsons nailed it: "we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!" Kudos for Kodos! 🤣

Hello folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I know how awesome it is to use your Google Home and Nest devices as external speakers while enjoying movies on your Chromecast with Google TV. It's a fantastic way to enhance your viewing experience!
However, this feature is not supported on any of our Google speakers and displays, but you can always create an audio group with the speakers and Chromecast devices to play synchronous music throughout your home. Visit Create and Manage Speaker Groups on our Help Center to learn more.
We're always looking for ways to improve — we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.
Cheers,

Um, did you just say that you "know how awesome it is to use your Google Home and Nest devices as external speakers while enjoying movies on your Chromecast with Google TV. Are you seriously trolling us??!! You need to be stripped of your "Community Specialist" designation. Behaviour like that just frustrates the community. What gives??!!

We know how to create a speaker group to listen to audio on that group but the question was how to listen on that group whilst watching on Chromecast/Google TV.
I think that if Google let us 'pair' more that one speaker, like connecting 2 Nest Minis to create Left and Right, then we can connect that 'pair' with Bluetooth to Chromecast/Google TV. Seems like a simple solution to me!

Hey ChrisF7,
You can only cast music to the speaker group with Chromecast TV. Please continue to send feedback on your devices as this will help us improve and add more features of our speakers and displays.

What they wrote was entirely factual and not at all disrespectful. You literally said, isn't it awesome that you can do x, but then stated how you can't do x. Not cool. And pulling the disrespect card on that is totally out of order. Shame.
