How to listen to audio book

I listen to audio books from my local library. How could I listen to these books using my Nest Audio. Or do I have to purchase the audio book through google?

Hi @BigPhil this truly depends on what you currently use to listen to books now. Many libraries have digital copies of content that can be used and loaded to handheld devices that expire after a certain period of time. If that's what you do and the library provides an app or you have the ability to use an app that can connect via casting from your handheld or tablet you can cast the content to your speaker. If you have no way to cast, then the answer is there is no way to listen through a Nest speaker. Apple devices don't support Chromecast capabilities, it uses "AirPlay."

I am trying to set up this for my 94 year old mother-in-law. She is nearly blind and almost deaf. She listens to audio books from her iPad with it on full volume next to her ear. I was hoping she could just say “hey google read me … using ……”. Too many steps will put her off completely.
I also wanted to use it so she could ring out and receive calls from her phone. But more problems, needs a mobile, then needs it hooked to Telstra in Australia. Played with Duo but ok for immediate family if they are hooked up to Duo.

Thanks for your help
