Hub, Google Photos, Photo Frame, Why so repetitive!!??

Pleeeeeease fix this.

I have it set to show photos from an album. There are hundreds of photos in there. I see the same several dozen repeated over and over and over. (This is the same when using on my chromecast on my TV).

Why not just randomly select photos until they've all been seen then start with the repeats?

I don't want google to curate my photos in anyway... I've already done that by creating the album... and if I put it in there I want to see it (regardless of blurry face, bad composition, poor resolution or whatever else google is selecting by).

Please! So simple.

Was hoping to gift to grandparents as a digital photo frame, but essentially makes it unusable.

Thanks.

Try setting Personal photo curation to Live albums only. That should make it pick a wider selection of the less ‘good’ pictures from your albums.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Scarfolk.

Megadice, thanks for reaching out. Depending on the album, Google Photos may curate the photos that it selects for your slideshow:

  • Live Albums only: Google Photos tries to select the best photos from these albums.
  • All albums: Google Photos tries to remove photos with poor image quality or near duplicates.
    • To turn off curation for these albums, set "Personal photo curation" to Live albums only.
  • Your Favorites: Google Photos doesn't curate these photos.

Check out this helpful link to know more about it.
