I can't connect my Google Home (The big one) as a bluetooth speker

When I tell it to search for bluetooth devices on my PC and my phone I can find it and pair to it, but it won't allow me to connect so I can play the audio through it. Also, it looks like the Google Home keeps looking for bluetooth devices even though I already paired to it. I was able to connect to it before, so I don't understand what changed

Hi AgusMarotte,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did the issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speaker, then your computer.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Also, here are some steps that you can try to regain the Bluetooth connection:

Check which mobile device is paired with your device:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  3. Tap your device's tile.
  4. Tap Settings > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices.
  5. You'll find your mobile device and the date it was paired.

Unpair your mobile device and your speaker or display:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  3. Touch and hold the tile of the device you want to unpair.
  4. Tap Settings > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices.
  5. Tap the X next to the device you want to unpair > Unpair.

Here are other steps when pairing your devices via Bluetooth:

From the Google Home app:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices.
  3. Touch and hold the tile of the device you want to pair.
  4. Tap Settings > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices > Enable Pairing Mode.

From your mobile device's Bluetooth settings:

  1. On your mobile device's Home screen, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Tap the name of the speaker or display you'd like to pair.

From your computer's Bluetooth settings:

Note: Steps vary depending on computer or laptop model.

Windows OS:

  1. Select the Start button > type “Bluetooth” > select Bluetooth settings from the list.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth.
  3. Tap the name of the speaker or display you’d like to pair.

Mac OS:

  1. Click the Apple menu > System Preferences.
  2. Find the Bluetooth icon.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Select the name of the speaker or display you’d like to pair.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dan
