ISP provider completely updated router, since 2 of my 4 google home devices fail to work

My Internet provider made an update on the router, since then two of my four speakers (I have two mini, one home, one hub) fail to connect to the WiFi even though they are on the same network and same Ghz. The same two (1 mini and home) also fail to show on devices unless I do a factory reset. Yet, when going through the process of adding them, the connection happens between phone and speaker but then fails when doing the next part, WiFi connect.

When I ask google a question, I get the reply, 'please log in through the google home app.'

Thanks

Hi @jdwa_13

Try full factory resets to your Home devices. Set them up as new and see if that helps-

Here is a help page about the process: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays - Google Nest Help

Thank you for posting. I did that a few times, including restarting the router. Only by doing the former did my phone recognise the devices, it also connected (sound) but the next step, connecting to WiFi it couldn't do. Like I said, two speakers worked perfectly and two didn't and I made sure the same WiFi was used.

I keep getting the message, 'please log in via the google home app.'

Hi and thanks for the update. Can you temporarily move the devices closer to the router to finish set up?  Let us know if that is doable and if you still can't connect those devices, clear the Google Home app's cache, restart the router, fdr the Home devices and try again.

Thanks GillG, home speaker is right next to the router. I have restarted router and factory reset two speakers a dozen plus times, to no avail. Always the last part (Wi-Fi connection) is the problem. Checked what my other two speakers are using and all are the same SSID/password.

Let me check with our Nest Specialists to see if there are any known issues. Can you check the firmware of the devices and post back?

Clear the Google Home app cache as well while I check on this...

edit: please post the model number of the devices that aren't connecting.

Are the speaker problems coming from specific routers that maybe are frequency agile or changing other technical parameters to avoid intrusions? I had one group have an issue which I fixed on a large asus AX router by flipping one of their settings I can't remember which one.

Thank you for the suggestion, I only have the one router..

My speakers are in bathroom, lounge, bedroom and kitchen. Two worked after my ISP updated the router, two haven't.
I must restart the router in order for the two that don't wok to show up as an option to add devices. Then all is good until 'connecting to Wi-Fi.' Then it shows as speaker set up but problem with Wi-Fi connection. Tried using other Wi-Fi ssid and passwords, same problem.

If I must delete all my home group which includes my lights (philips hub) etc, will I be faced with the same problem or not? The hours I've spent trying to sort this out have been wasted, if I knew for certain deleting all and adding again would sort the problem out it might well be worth it.
