Is it normal for Google Home to reset itself?

Before I went to bed last night I asked my Google Home to set an alarm, and it did so just fine. The alarm never went off however, as I woke up a little over an hour after the time I set it for. I looked at my device and it's lights were lit up, but when I tried communicating with it, it said that I needed to set it up. Why did it reset on its own?

Thanks for reaching out. I understand your concern, that is definitely an odd issue for your Google Home to randomly reset itself. I would be more than happy to help look into this issue. First, I have some questions to get a better understanding of this situation. 

• Which Google Home device is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
• Has this issue occurred again after you wrote the post?
• Is your device working normally again?
• Did you have a power outage?
