Is there a reason why sleep sensing not available for multiple Nest Hub Gen 2?

I just bought a second Nest Hub Gen 2, but the sleep sensing option is unavailable under settings unless I deactivate the sleep sensing on my existing Nest Hub Gen 2. What is Google’s reasoning behind this? A household can have multiple bedrooms.

Hi Alphak12,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with your Google Nest Hub. It's frustrating that your device is not working properly when using the Sleep Sensing feature.

Yes, you can use two Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen devices to track the sleep of two different people in the same home.

Each Nest Hub Gen 2 is designed to track the sleep of one individual. By placing them in separate rooms, you can effectively monitor the sleep of two different people.

Here's a brief guide:

  1. Set Up Sleep Sensing: For each Nest Hub Gen 2, follow the setup process to enable Sleep Sensing and link it to the appropriate person's Google account.
  2. Place in Separate Rooms: Place each Nest Hub in the room where the corresponding person sleeps.
  3. Monitor Sleep Data: Use the Google Home app to view the sleep data for each individual.

Please take in consideration to review the following steps: If the devices are set up under the same account and home structure, you may encounter limitations for this feature to work properly.

You can also check the following article to know more about the Sleep Sensing FAQs. In addition, please check this guide to Fix Sleep Sensing issues.

Please let me know if you need further information.

Hi Mario, this is incorrect information. I don't have an issue. This is expected if a user has multiple nest hub in a single home within Google Home. When you have multiple Nest Hubs, you can only see active Sleep Sensing option on one of the hubs regardless which room it's placed on. You should try it out yourself. The question is why Google choose to design it this way.

PS. I followed all troubleshooting steps and support agent confirmed this behavior as well.
