Issues with YouTube Music and podcasts

FPTom

Hi, I have a query similar to one a user posted last year, but I can't see there was an answer. When I play a podcast (either from the New Episodes or Episodes for later auto lists) from YouTube Music on my nest mini or my nest hub, it will only play one episode and stop when it gets to the end.

It won't let me skip to next episode either as it says the current is the last one in the queue. When playing through my phone, the app shows the next episodes and can be skipped. But when playing straight onto the mini or when casting, the hub only shows the individual episode.

Hi FPTom,

Thanks for posting in the community.

I understand that when you play a podcast from the YouTube Music app on your Google Nest Mini or Google Nest Hub, it only plays one episode at a time and won't let you skip to the next one. I appreciate you letting me know that you've noticed this is a long-standing inconvenience and that the experience is different from the app on your phone. Don’t worry, help is here.

To get started, please provide some more information by answering these questions:

  1. When did the inconvenience start?
  2. Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app? If not, this Google Nest Help Center article provides helpful instructions: Update the Google Home app.
  3. Do you have a YouTube Music Premium subscription?
  4. Is the YouTube Music app updated?
  5. Is your smartphone's operating system updated?
  6. What is the firmware version of your Google Nest Mini and Google Nest Hub? You can use this Google Help Center article as a reference: Find your device’s firmware version.
  7. Can you check whether filters are blocking podcasts or Downtime is turned on in Digital Wellbeing settings
  8. What command are you using to listen to the next or previous episode?
  9. What country are you located in?

Please keep me posted,

Best regards,

Virna
