Multiple spotify accounts / multiple nests not working

Hi there,

I've connected three nests to my network. I have 4 family members, each with google accounts, a personal device each with google Home installed on it, with one family member logged into each devices google home app.

Each devices google home app is linked to their own spotify premium account. Each family member can play spotify on their own personal devices simultaneously.

When one of the family asks for music to play on their nest, it does. When a second family member asks to play music on their nest, it cuts the music from the others.

I've followed the instructions presented in other threads by Garrett S, and my issue doesn't seem to be resolved.

Can google please create a definitive procedure that allows these devices to work as they should? IE, each family member can use spotify on each nest independently and simultaneously. This seems to be a significant flaw in the design of the google home apps. I've spent far too long trying to get this to work and am considering moving away from the google platform for this purpose.

Hi Tom,

Does your family have Voice Match set up? I am honestly confused why this doesn't work and will reach out to some of our other Community experts.

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're having as I'm sure it's confusing, but I'm happy to help. 

 

Up to six accounts can be added to Google Home, and if you want to add multiple accounts from the same device, open the Google Home app and tap the hamburger button in the top left corner to reveal the left menu.

 

Unfortunately with Spotify, 2 people can not play music on the same Spotify account at the same time. I am happy to send this feedback to our team as we are always wanting to improve our products and services for our customers.
