Music restarts after on its own.

Music will restart on its own after being told you cancel.  This happens with Apple Music, tune-in, and podcasts.  I have older Google home mini, newer nest mini, and a JBL Link Portable.  It happens on all of them.  It happens if I say cancel music, stop music in 10 minutes, or set sleep timer for 10 minutes.  It happens weather the command is given by voice or through a routine.

Hi Mark06,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about what you're experiencing with your Google Home Mini. Can you please tell us how many Google Home/Nest speakers are set up on your network as well as the device that are affected?

Lastly, can you list down the exact commands that you have tried so we can check further what's causing this to happen?

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Princess

I have multiple devices.  Two Google Home Mini, Nest Mini, and a JBL Link Portable.  The JBL has Google Assistant built in.  The issue exists in all of the devices.

I have tried Ok Google Cancel music.

I have a routine that used to work with the command "Stop music in 15 minutes". I have changed it to "set sleep timer for 15 minutes"

The music stops but then restarts.  This does not happen every time.

I have seen it happen with Apple Music and Google podcasts.

Hi Mark06,

Thanks for the update.

Did you notice this when you use a different music provider? How about when using Spotify or YouTube music?

I have seen it in Apple Music, Tune-in, and Google podcasts.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for responding.

Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset to one of your Google Nest speakers and set it up again. Before doing so, it would be best if you will try to reboot your router by unplugging it from the power source for at least a few minutes. This would also help prevent the congestion on the network.

By the way, when you set it up, try to move it closer to the router and see if you will experience the same thing.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess

Since this problem started I have upgraded my internet to fiber clear into a new router.  With this every device had to be set up again for the wifi name change.  We also tested the wifi signal strength to the edge of our property,  It was strong everywhere we tested.

One of the speakers is sitting about 10 feet from the router.  The kitchen speaker is about 30 feet away.

The issue started about the time that Google was forced to change the volume controls.

Also, my son living in another state has the same issues on his system.  From looking at the number of times I see this issue reported, it looks like Google needs to look at their internal program for the cause.
