My Google Home display got a darkened filter across the screen

Suddenly my Google Home display is 90% covered in a kind of dark mask and only left with a strip of display in normal state. I attach a photo for your reference. Please help me fix this please. The display is literally hurting my eyes.IMG_20230610_165033.jpg

Hi folks,

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have — let’s check it out.

@kiwii, a few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Is it a Nest Hub or a Nest Hub (2nd Gen)? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Could you tell us more about how this happened? When and where did you buy your Nest display?

@BB12, do you have the same concern as what the picture above shows? Could you tell us more about how it happened? When and where was it bought? Please send us a picture of the said concern and follow the steps below on how to:

  1. Hit reply or start a new post.
  2. Click Insert Image.
  3. Choose an image source location.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions
  5. Also, you can tap the "Drag and Drop" option. Maximum attachment is 5 MB.

To both: send us the firmware version of your Nest displays, see this link, and follow the instructions.

Looking forward to your responses.

Best,

Dan
