My Google Nest Mini won't connect to WiFi, need help please.

I just got this Google Nest Mini model H2C and I'm able to connect it to Google Home just fine but as soon as I choose my WiFi name it says cannot communicate with Nest Mini. Please help this is our first device like this and we are anxious to use it.

Thanks for your post. First, welcome to the Google Nest/Home family! I am sorry to hear that your set up process is not going well. I would be more than happy to help get your Google Nest Mini running! First, I have some questions to get a better understanding of this situation.

  • Is your Google Nest Mini powering on?
  • Is your Google Nest Mini showing up as connected in the Google Home App?
  • What kind of WiFi are you trying to connect to? A one step password only WiFi or a two step WiFi?
  • Have you tried connecting your Google Nest Mini to a mobile hotspot instead? What happens?
  • Can you please try to do a reboot and Factory Data Reset on your Google Nest Mini? Are there any improvements? 
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings. 
    • Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
