My Google Smart speakers in Melbourne have started to broadcast ABC Radio National Adelaide.

About 3 weeks ago my Google Nest Hub and Mini speakers started to provide ABC Radio National Adelaide to me in Melbourne. I now get the wrong time, the wrong weather and the wrong news. Have contacted the ABC and they have been unable to help. How can I fix this and get back to ABC Radio National Melbourne?

Thanks for reaching out. That is definitely odd to have your device give you news from another location and give you the incorrect time and weather as well. I understand your concern and would be more than happy to help find a solution to this issue. First, I have some questions.

  • Just confirming, do you have the correct address listed in the Google Home App?
  • Do you have the updated address on your actual Google Account?
  • Is your device powering on and working normally besides this issue?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to the Google Nest Hub device itself? If so, what have you tried so far?

 

Just a friendly reminder, here are the steps to change the home address of your devices

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. At the top, make sure your home name is listed. If needed, tap the name to change your home.
  3. Tap Settings  and then Home information and then Home address​.
  4. Enter your address and then Save.

Note: When you change the home address, it will only affect the devices in the home you selected. You can edit or delete this address at any time.
