My Google Nest Hub 2 generation Feature is Not working properly.

Just Buy it 3 Weeks ago And Swipe up to access Settings is not working and Quick Gesture is also not working.

My Friend buy the same as me from the same store 5-6 Days ago and His feature is working, Swipe up and Quick Gesture is working. and we have the same Software Version and Chromecast firmware Version, We checked it Yesteday.

Mine is Swipe down and swipe left + Not Working Quick Gesture and my friends is Swipe up and Swipe Left + Working Quick Gesture.

Need pls Help, or is it some Update error on my device?

Do i need to do a factory Reset?

@Thor28

Does a simple reboot help, either from within the Google Home app or by unplugging your Nest Hub for a minute?

@MplsCustomer

i have tried that, also soft and hard reboot, and also factory reset, and my software version is on google home is 324896 and on my nest hub is 47.9.4.447810048 and Chromecast/cast on my nest hub/Google home app is 1.56.324896. and also i dont see the motion sensor settings on my hub

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but if you've done a factory reset and that has not resolved it, perhaps you have a defective Nest Hub and should return it for a replacement.

Hi folks,

@MplsCustomer, thanks for the help.

@Thor28, thanks for reaching out and for providing detailed information on your issue and the steps that you've done — these are of great help!

Gesture controls on the Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) work best when you make slow, deliberate movements. If the device is not responding to gesture controls, check the following:

  1. Make sure that the privacy switch is not on.
  2. Try the gesture again but slower. It is best to hold up a hand in a stop motion and slowly move it towards the device. Its like making a pushing motion.
  3. There is no ideal distance between the hand and the Nest display for gesture controls to work, but between two to eight feet is best.
  4. Make sure Quick Gestures are enabled in the Google Home app device settings (under Recognition and Personalization).

Check this link for more information.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Juni
