Nest Audio constantly returning a "something went worng" after a few successfully performed commands

I've searched extensively for a similar issue but nothing relevant came up. I have factory reset the device, reinstalled the Google Home app on my iPhone, and moved the nest next to the router. I have tried all the tricks in the book... the problem persists annoyingly. (UPnP on my router is enabled, and there is nothing wrong with my network, checked everything)

It has been a few weeks now that after I repeatedly reset the device or reinstalled the App, or do both, or reboot the device or do whatever action can bring Nest to its senses, it actually works and it is accepting my favorite command which is to play music from my apple music. But after a few other commands, like changing song, or asking about the time or the weather or who won WWII, etc, the device "blocks" (all four bright dots stay on like the device cannot reach the network) with my favorite US-accended lady informing me that "there was a glitch", or "hmm something went wrong", and "try again in a few seconds". Then I go through the same loop of actions and the device works again for the next few commands, and then again ....

It looks like a hardware issue but not that the device is malfunctioning (firmware?). Please don't advise me to apply all the typical actions spread across this community; as I mentioned above I tried everything. What I need is a concrete opinion of what could be the issue, what can be done, and if there is anything that can be done at all. Otherwise, I can happily put the annoying thing away and search for alternatives (obviously non-Google ones).

Thanks in advance! Much appreciated!

Hi old_nooby,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. Try to set up your Google Nest Audio using another network and observe if you get a different experience. Lastly, could you provide us with your device's firmware version? Check out the steps below on how to get it:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Thanks,

Juni
