Nest Audio muffled sound in and out

Hoping you can help fix. After only a day or two since purchasing the sound on the Nest Audio started going muffled for a few seconds than back to normal. It progressively got worse and now it sounds muffled almost all the time.

I also have a nest wifi speaker in a room down the hall and a nest mini in the bathroom. Wifi router is 15 feet from the Nest Audio in question. Tried resetting power no change.

Sorry to hear about your Google Home Mini, but thanks for bringing this up. I’d love to dig deeper into this. To confirm, does it have the same issue with the Assistant voice? What is the firmware version of your device? Also, could you send a short clip video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device.
