I'm sorry to raise this topic again, but yet years later and we still csnnot use Nest speakers for audio with Chromecast TV. It take cannot be that difficult to separate the video and audio streams, @Google. How is it that Roku, Apple, and Amazon all support this to some degree, but zilch from Google like it is some engineering impossibly? If they weren't going to do this, then they could have at least left the wired audio inputs on their speakers.
It's absolutely pathetic...can we please get some outrage in the community over this or is everyone content to be stuck without such a basic feature offered by every competitor??
