Nest Hub 2nd Gen -Gentle Wake Up not working

I recently set up a Nest Hub 2nd Gen to replace a 1st gen Lenovo smart clock. I was using Gentle Wake Up with a Wyze smart bulb (in the same room) without issue with the Lenovo smart clock, but with the new Nest Hub it doesn't seem to work anymore. I use the voice command to "turn on gentle wake up" to sync with my morning alarm, and the Assistant confirms this, but it doesn't actually work (i.e. the room light is not on in the morning). I am not sure where the failure is, does anyone have any idea what I can do? Thanks

I have resolved the issue by doing the following:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the display to get the controls
  2. Tap the alarm clock icon
  3. Next to the "Set an alarm" button, tap the gear icon
  4. Tap "Sunrise alarm" in the list
  5. Enable the "room lights" switch

To reiterate, using the verbal "turn on gentle wake up" voice command does not seem to do anything at all, but the steps above do work

Hey there,
I understand that this issue can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

I do need help, yes. There are only so many troubleshooting steps I can do. I tried turning gentle wake up off then on again. I tried keeping it off. There's not much else I can do, unless you know of anything I can try

Hey there,

Sorry to hear you're still having problems with this. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app as well as doing a Factory Reset on the device that you are using.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I am not sure what app you mean, the Google Home app? How would that help? Also, I can perform a factory reset but the device is brand new; I am not sure what that would accomplish. Can you please elaborate?

Hi there,

Sorry that you're still having this issue. If a feature is not working, typically a factory reset on the device will fix it. You can also try to unlink and relink the devices from the app to see if that will help as well.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
