Nest Hub Gen2 stops playing the news

after a few seconds of playing the news, nest hub Gen2 stops like nothing happens.

No matter what source i have selected or what command or automation is given, still stops.

I have had the same problem for about a week.

But also at the same time a problem with language started. I have language set to Swedish, if I ask something Google Assistant answer in Swedish but when I ask for latest news the presentation for each of news channel is said in Swedish but with a English voice, that makes it impossible to understand.

@SoulRaven, @Gr8Viking, this is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you: when did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? What is the error message when playing any news source? Is your Nest Hub 2nd Gen able to play music services like YouTube or Spotify? What country are you located in?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

I have the same issue.  News stories after a few seconds.  When resuming it continues as usual.

To confirm, have you tried the steps provided by ? If so, and still have the same issue, you can proceed with resetting your device. Follow the steps on this link to know-how. Please note that resetting your device will clear all the settings on your device and will require you to set up the device again.

Hi.

No change after restarting Router, Nest and phone (and Athom Homey), still same problem.

I have not tried resetting my Nest. I will take the time to do that the next days, it is some work since I have my Nest integrated with many routines (flow in Athom Home, I tried to deactivate all flow in Homey and thet did not help so problem I don't think is in Homey flow) and need to write down what more I need to restore after reset.

I understand. Routines are account based and it will not be affected when you reset your device. Same with the smart devices that are linked. Unless, you unlink your account smart device first before resetting it.

I have now, restarted phone, router and nest, I have also reset nest to factory settings. 

One problem is solved, I can now ask Google for the latest news and they play uninterpreted.

But the voice/language problem remains. When Google is playing the latest news (I have 5 sources defined in Home-app) assistant are presenting each source before playing it, assistant is trying to talk Swedish but uses a voice that is intended for English. I don't understand, it is impossible to hear the Swedish words spoken in English.

While waiting for the higher tier support, may we know the status of your concern? Are you still not able to watch news from your Nest Hub 2nd Gen? Could you also confirm if playing a song also gives you the same result as when playing news?

Hello.

 

For a couple of days I have listened to the news without that the audio is paused. But this morning yet again the news playing was paused after 6-8 second, I press play on the notification in my phone and the rest (all 5 news sources) play flawless.

 

But the problem with language remains. assistant is announcing all news sources. The problem is that assistant uses a voice for English to speak Swedish, and it is impossible to understand.

This was a week ago, when it was really difficult to start. I had to use play button in notification on my phone (I get a notification in my phone every time something is playing in my nest).

Thanks for sharing the video. Upon checking, our team is currently aware of it and looking into this issue at hand. Please send feedback on your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," followed by the keywords: GHT3 News play in multiple languages.

 

Before sending feedback, make sure to replicate the issue first and crash reports are enabled on your device. You can check this link or follow the steps below:

 

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right corner of the screen, tap Settings > Recognition & sharing.
  5. Turn on Send [device model] device usage and crash reports to Google. (Example: Send Google Home device usage and crash reports to Google.)

Hello.

Now I have sent feedback.

I can also say. I have multiple Google units. 2 Nest Hub, 1 Home mini and one JBL speaker, all have the same problem with announcement of news in wrong language. But if I ask the assistant in my phone to play latest news the presentation is in correct language, Swedish.

Hi there, I am French and using my Google home in French. It works well and speaks French except in one situation. When I ask Google Home about the latest news, it says "Selon France Info Le Flash" ("According to France Breaking News") in French but with an English accent. It it said as if the voice generating was set to English. All my language settings are in French and Google Assistants speaks in a normal French voice otherwise. What can I do ?

That is so odd!  What I suggest is the next time that happens you immediately file a feedback report via the Google Home app.

Hi there @LovelyM. I don't know how to send feedback on a French system. Anyway, I have spent enough time documenting the error here and also on the help form whose answer was that I should post the issue here instead. Sorry but I don't work for Google and I do not want to go through a third medium to describe the same error again. If you want it resolved, you have the necessary information. Chiming in, please share a video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device. Also, what is the current firmware version of your device? Please follow the steps below to know-how:
 

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Press and hold the device’s tile.
  3. Select Settings Settings > Device information.
  4. Find Technical information > Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Hi,

I have since one or two months (I think) suffered from Goggle Nest introducing news using english language for swedish text.

I live in Sweden and have set language to Swedish in Google Home app.
Here is example video :  Google nest news introduction .

Please fix this, thank you. I see other users in the thread also suffer from the same problem.
