Nest Hub Max Losing Connectivity

MrCake

Ive had this device for a couple of years but this seems to have started in the past month or so. The device will constantly stop playing media and indicate that it has lost connectivity. This seems to also be affecting my nest doorbell (I've been getting a notification almost daily about connectivity lost for over 10 minutes). I do have about 3 other nest devices on top of a couple of dozen wifi devices that don't have any issues connection issues.

Has there been a change on the nest side lately that is causing all these issues?

Mine has also been losing connectivity. It seems to be exclusive to when YouTube Music is providing the audio as I'll also use Tune-In for the mornings and it never loses connection. If I load up a YouTube Music playlist, the entire device will lose connection within 5-20 minutes.

The speakers seem fine but the Nest Hub Max always disconnects. And boy do I wish there was an easier way to reboot the device than unplugging it.

Thank you, yeah my issue occurs with Spotify as it is really the main app I use on my all my nest speakers.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your connectivity concern. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. You can try to factory reset your Google Nest Hub Max. This erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out the article below to know more about it.

Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

Juni

Factory reset was successful but the problem persists.

What can we try next?

I've got this problem as well. I have my Google Max as part of a speaker group with 3 other devices. When I stream to this speaker group *only* the Google Max will stutter and drop audio. The rest of the devices stream flawlessly. The Google Max is on the same subnet (I've only got on configured) as all the other devices.

I've tried factory resetting the Google Max as well as the Google Home Wifi network a few times and it hasn't helped.

When I ping the Google Max I see that it drops packets frequently. This doesn't happen with any of my other devices.

Seems like there is some network issue happening on the Google Max device itself.

The only started happening a couple months ago. It worked fine for years.

Hey folks,

Thanks for trying that, and I am sorry that you are still experiencing it. If possible, try to set up your Google Nest Hub Max using another network and observe if you will get a different experience.

I look forward to your responses.

Best,

Juni
