Nest Mini (2nd Gen) connectivity issues - constantly disconnecting

Hello,

If this can't be resolved I'd like to have the money refunded on the products I bought (Nest door bell and 2x Nest mini) as these products are really not fit for purpose. I bought them so I'd have a doorbell and it doesn't work as it has constantly disconnected since bought. Sometimes every few months but now it is virtually every day and so is utterly useless.

UK based with excellent broadband. The speaker says "I can't find the internet right now" so I reset the device and reconnect via the google home app. The device updates the software and then works for a bit before disconnecting. It is right next to the router. The router is dual band but I've made sure it's not on the 5Ghz one. I am pulling my hair out, I only wanted a doorbell...

Many thanks for your help and can you confirm to me that this is just a design flaw and that the product is not fit for purpose that way I can get a refund from the retailer.

Hello AliMac,

Thanks for reaching out to our Community.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Google Nest Mini. Since you've mentioned that the device is close to the router, we can eliminate the distance issue. However, we need to make sure that all of these are checked.

  • How many Google Nest speakers are connected to your network?
  • If there are any, how many are affected by this error?
  • Have you also tried connecting the Google Nest Mini to a different network? How about when using a mobile hotspot?

If resetting the device is not yet tried, let's start doing so and let's see if this would make any changes to its behavior. Here's how: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princess,

There were two speakers and it happened to both.
I reduced it to one speaker and it still happens.
I do not have another network to connect to, I should be able to connect to my normal network, no?
What good is a mobile hotspot if the hotspot moves, it'll disconnect.
I have factory reset countless number of times.
Can I get my money back, it’s flawed and useless?
Thanks,

Hello AliMac180,

Sorry for the delays. Could you tell us the make and model of your router? Also, when and where did you purchase your Nest Minis?

Cheers,

Muddi
